MaxxTracks
Our main slope. The Maxxtracks slope is the bigger slope in our ski hall. It’s the first thing you’ll see as you walk in the door and it’s our main focus point.
South Wilts Ski Club is built on the same spirit that started this whole movement back in the 80s — a group of passionate skiers who simply couldn’t wait for the next winter to get better at what they loved.
The technology we use was originally developed by a group of friends in the Netherlands in 1986 — all ski instructors who wanted a way to train properly all year round. With a mix of determination and engineering know-how, they built the first ever rotating indoor slope so they could keep progressing without travelling to the mountains.
Fast forward through years of refinement and innovation, and that early prototype has evolved into the MaxxTracks system we use at South Wilts Ski Club today. The very first slope built in Heemskerk is still running, and thousands of skiers and boarders have taken their first turns — or sharpened their technique — on it.
We’re proud to carry that same mission forward here in Wiltshire:
To give people access to real, high-quality ski and snowboard training all year round — whether you’re learning from scratch or fine-tuning before your next trip to the mountains.
We love using the MaxxTracks slope to really hone in your technique and get you feeling like you’re speeding down the slopes. You can fine-tune movements to help you further understand what happens while you’re skiing. It has proven to speed up the learning process for beginners who want to fast-track their learning before a ski holiday, or for expert skiers who want to practice without the variables that come with skiing such as snow conditions, slope steepness or even slope length. On the MaxxTracks slope, you keep going down the same slope that you’re practicing on for the whole session if your legs can handle it!
Our deep-seated love of winter sports and the urge to let others experience it too, allowed us to bring the artificial indoor ski-slope to the market.

SkyTech
We’ve never liked the idea that skiing should be limited to a few weeks a year. When the mountains are far away and the weather isn’t playing ball, most people wait. We have found the solution.
Introducing the SkyTechSport simulator — a piece of kit originally developed by hardcore snow sports enthusiasts who were just as stubborn about getting their turns in, no matter the season. Instead of accepting the limits of location or weather, they engineered a system that lets riders experience true edge control, real G-force and responsive movement — indoors, any day of the year.
The simulator we use at South Wilts Ski Club is the same professional system trusted by the U.S. Ski Team. It recreates real G-force, edge control, and pressure distribution — so when you carve, you use exactly the same muscles as you would on the mountain. The feedback it gives is great, if you’re too heavy on the wrong ski, it won’t move, if you aren’t completely accurate on timing, it tells you instantly.
For us, it’s simple: we’re not here to replace the mountains. We’re here to make sure you’re ready for them.
